Underwear is the first thing you put on in the morning, and the last thing you take off at night, and Jackfruit The Label want you to feel truly comfortable in it. They hope to inspire a mindset that focuses on all the good your body does for you. To highlight how good it feels to be relaxed in your own skin, encouraging a change in how we view our own bodies.
Jackfruit The Label is named after the jackfruit, a tropical fruit native to South East Asia. They can be large or small, round, short, long, or lumpy. At any size and at any stage they are delicious and versatile; they can be enjoyed ripe or unripe, sweet or savoury, and the owners at Jackfruit The Label thought this was a nice metaphor for the inclusivity and body positivity that are at the core of how they envision the label.
Jackfruit's first collection is a line of ethical and sustainable underwear for sizes 6 to 26 (with custom sizing available) made in their signature blend of bamboo and organic cotton. The entire range is made in small batches in Australia with care, utilising solar energy to construct and dye them.
From beginning to end - designs and patterns, dying fabric and the construction of the garments - they do everything themselves from their home studio in Byron Bay. This allows them to oversee every aspect of the manufacturing process, and they are dedicated to ensuring that their practices are environmentally friendly, ethical and sustainable.
