Each season, Shapes in the Sand partners with an environmental organisation relevant to their theme drawing attention to as well as supporting areas of concern. Each step involved from the sourcing right through to the distribution of collections is done with the environment in mind. Shapes in the Sand has a plastic-free and zero-waste approach right down to the water-soluble hygiene liners that they’ve developed.

During manufacturing, Shapes in the Sand take care to limit their impact on the planet as much as possible. They repurpose all of their offcuts into other items such as scrunchies.

Shapes in the Sand has recently introduced an industry-first bio-based swimwear fabrication derived from the oil of the castor bean. A renewable resource that doesn’t require high amounts of water to grow and has no impact on the food chain human or animal.
No animals have been harmed in the production of Shapes in the Sand's collections. No animal textiles or animal by-products are used throughout any collection.
