RECYCLE + REIMAGINE
The Elsewhere Co. are tackling textile waste by diverting waste from landfill and reimagining it into circular fashion accessories. They’ve already saved approximately 148kg of leather and 32 kg of cotton from reaching landfill and it’s just the beginning. Their wallets are made from RCS-100 certified recycled leather, an innovative material made from genuine leather offcuts otherwise destined for landfill. Recycled leather is a natural material that has low environmental impact. It’s highly sustainable yet retains the beautiful look and feel of traditional leather. The production process itself creates zero manufacturing material waste and uses 50% less water than conventional leather production processes. Their accessories are thoughtfully packaged without single use plastic in a beautiful recycled-cotton dust bag.
REPURPOSE + RESTYLE
The Elsewhere Co. design incredibility useful, runway-worthy accessories made from waste material – staple pieces you can repurpose + restyle countless ways to elevate your look and extend your existing wardrobe. The Elsewhere Co’s unique accessories have been designed as multi-functional wardrobe staples that offer endless styling options, whilst keeping you organised throughout your day. Their interchangeable chain and charm collection encourages consumers to reconnect with their creativity and make the most of what they already own by restyling and repurposing.

BRAND VALUES
+ Australian designed
The Elsewhere Co. is designed in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and ethically made in Dongguan City, Guangdong, China where all workers are treated ethically and paid fairly.
+ Sustainable and zero-waste
Recycled leather directly saves large volumes of waste from reaching landfill, with a single product saving up to approximately 200 grams of waste. Most notably, the production process itself creates zero manufacturing material waste. Each accessory is also sustainably packaged in a signature reusable recycled cotton dust bag made from 30% recycled cotton (which is also biodegradable). Off-cut waste from The Elsewhere Co.'s leather goods manufacturing is used to make zipper pullers and brand logo badges. They don’t work to fast fashion trends and all collections are carefully considered and released slowly (not seasonally). Packaging is also sustainable, plastic-free and orders are shipped via carbon-neutral delivery. They use courier companies that offset the carbon emissions of each delivery by supporting sustainability initiatives such as wildlife conservation and clean energy projects.
+ Ethical
Recycled leather accessories are ethically produced in Dongguan City, Guangdong, China where all workers are treated ethically and paid fairly. The factory has independent third party Sedex approval demonstrating ethical working conditions.
+ Some eco-friendly fabrics
The Elsewhere Co. uses natural materials whenever possible. Their products are predominantly produced from recycled leather and made from natural components such as genuine leather fibres, natural latex rubber, water and pigments. They also use biodegradable fabrics such as hand-woven pure silk, 100% cotton and recycled cotton. They emboss directly onto the leather instead of attaching fabric or metal labels to the products too.
+ Certified
The Elsewhere Co. recycled leather material is certified RCS 100 (Recycled Claim Standard 100), and certified by Control Union and Textile Exchange. The factory where The Elsewhere Co.'s recycled leather goods are produced is also certified ISO 14001, (demonstrating a responsible approach to environmental management) and SEDEX approved (showing commitment to ethical working conditions.)
+ Transparent
The Elsewhere Co. is transparent about their sourcing and manufacturing practices and are happy to answer any questions you may have about their products and brand.
+ Recycled and circular
The Elsewhere Co. believe that luxury doesn’t have to cost the earth. That’s why they've chosen to use premium quality recycled leather, a natural material which has low environmental impact. It's proudly sustainable, yet retains the beautiful look and feel of traditional leather. This innovative material saves large volumes of leather offcuts from reaching landfill, with a single product saving up to 200 grams of waste.
The Elsewhere Co.'s recycled leather is sustainable, RCS 100 certified and made from fully traceable genuine leather offcuts (waste from the production of leather gardening gloves, otherwise destined for landfill). The offcuts are shredded into fibres, bound together with natural rubber, pigment and water (all-natural substances, non-toxic, no nasties!) and then reformed into new sheets of quality recycled leather.
The production process itself creates zero material manufacturing waste and uses 50% less water than conventional leather production processes. Recycled leather also produces up to 60% fewer chemical emissions than leather tanning processes.
Passionate about keeping waste out of landfill, they will take back any Elsewhere Co. product that reaches its end-of-life or is no longer wanted as part of their recycling program. These items will either be repaired as second-hand goods for sale or donation, disassembled for recycling or re-made into something new.
