Our skin is subject to damaging effects year-round; we’re a country that loves the sun a little too much, and we’re notorious for our celebratory lifestyle. The skin is our biggest organ, and the brightness, lightness and condition of it, is a tell-tale of the lives we live.
In winter, my skin suffers. I hit the beach less, I indulge in comfort food, and I probably enjoy one too many winter red wines by the fire. It’s not easy feeding your skin everything it needs on a daily basis, but the right products and a regular skincare regime can mean the difference between looking drab and looking fab.
I’ve found my favourite routine at Flawless Rejuvenation – a registered medical aesthetic and skin clinic – and my complexion is now better at 28 than it was at 21, and I can credit that to the treatments I’ve been having.
Hampton Clinician, Helena Filipovic, recommends a combination of treatments to target several areas and issues. The Hydra Facial and Laser Genesis treatments help keep the skin hydrated and radiant through the cooler months, and when regularly alternated, the result is a smooth summer glow, a clear complexion and bright, plump skin.
Laser Genesis is known for its many benefits, and it’s my go-to, now that I’m starting to see the signs of ageing. It promotes collagen production, reduces pores, reduces wrinkles, and calms redness in the skin with no downtime, which is especially important if you’re a populated-calendar kind of gal.
For optimum results, Helena suggests treatments every four weeks, but I like to visit a little more often. If you’re like me and your skin suffers through winter, visit Flawless Rejuvenation in Hampton or Toorak for a skin analysis, and start putting your best face forward.
