I love prints. I love colour. I love clashing prints and colour, but there’s a fine line between looking great and looking ghastly. There’s a few old-fashioned faux pas that are ignored nowadays too; ‘Blue and green should never be seen unless there’s something in between’, and ‘Red and green should never be seen, except upon an Irish Queen’ haunt me every time I think of wearing either, but traditional fashion rules and regulations are no more. Clashing prints and colours is now the done thing, and I couldn’t be happier.
So, what’s the secret to pulling two opposing colours or prints together? Confidence.
If you’re loving what you’re in, chances are it looks good. If you’re iffy, add some accessories, and get creative with the way you tie the whole outfit together. Tan boots and a belt are great finishing touches, and layering with something neutral always works too.
