The Fashion Advocate Australian made fashion Spring wedding outfit Kholo

The perfect Spring garden wedding outfit

Spring is my favourite season of the year; the sun starts coming out, I can ditch the layers and don more colour, and fresh flowers are aplenty.

It’s also the most popular time of the year for a wedding, with 37 per cent of all Australian couples tying the knot from September to November. It’s hot enough to wear that special dress, but not so hot that your makeup runs or your curls drop by mid-morning, and it’s a much more comfortable season for your guests.

With the weather in mind, a garden wedding calls for a particular kind of outfit, and what’s a better excuse than a Spring wedding to pull out the stops and break out the colour? Local Melbourne label, Kholo, knows what I’m talking about, and I’ve fallen in love with its chic-bohemian vibe and luscious silk fabrics.

Designer Karishma Kasabia ethically works with a small community of traditional Indian beaders to create delicate bejewelled fabrics, and the range is then made locally. The label’s aesthetic is balanced between Karishma’s Indian heritage, and her contemporary Melbourne surrounds, and each outfit represents the strength and beauty of modern women. Karishma defines her collection as ‘Haute Couture for everyday dressing’, and that’s exactly what it is.
