Wolf & Mishka is a Melbourne-based label passionate about creating locally made, unique pieces. Designer Natalia Pye launched her own label after being inspired by a family heirloom, a book of Russian nursery rhymes that was lovingly created by her great-grandmother almost 100 years ago.
Natalia channels that sense of hand-made love into all Wolf & Mishka pieces, each uniquely designed to be treasured for years to come.
Wolf & Mishka approaches each collection with slow fashion values, producing small local runs while staying waste-conscious. Wolf & Mishka takes sustainability seriously, closely monitoring the amount of fabric ordered, printed and used to ensure minimum waste, no over-production, and a focus on quality, not quantity.

+ Sustainable and zero-waste
Wolf & Mishka focus on using natural fabrics such as linen, cotton and silk, and also use regenerated wood fibres, which are much more environmentally friendly, such as Tencel and viscose. The Wolf & Mishka team are currently working to introduce 100% Organic Cotton into their collections, which uses Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) approved water-based inks and dyes. They often use deadstock and end-of-the-roll fabrics that other, larger producers have left unused, allowing the team to divert material from landfill, giving them a new life and reducing environmental impacts. Other larger scraps are saved for later ranges, and smaller scrap pieces are collected and given to kindergartens and craft and sewing workshops.
All elements of Wolf & Mishka's supply chain, from pattern makers to graders, cutters and makers, are in Melbourne. The team have strong personal relationships with their makers and, by taking a hands-on approach, can ensure the quality and integrity of all garments. It also means the Wolf & Mishka team can be certain that all of their production practices are ethical.
