Considering a mentor to grow your slow fashion brand? Here's 5 reasons why it's a great idea.

Full transparency... I sucked at running a business before I got my first mentor. I was stressed, I was working 10-12 hour days and 6-7 days a week, and I didn't have a plan. I was working really hard but not smart and it eventually caught up with me when I crashed and burned.

And before The Fashion Advocate was an online mentoring and course platform for slow fashion brands, it was the largest online store for ethical and sustainable fashion in Australia. It was a pretty big deal and I was doing way too much.

But, after getting my first mentor, a lot changed, personally and professionally. I made over half a million dollars in a few short years, The Fashion Advocate transformed into an award-winning business, I employed a full team of staff, and business boomed.

And you know what it was? Getting out of my own head and being open to someone else's ideas and strategies. And now that I'm in the best place I've ever been in business working 1-2 days a week from wherever I want to in the world, I'm sharing everything I know about building a multi-six-figure business and I'm giving you the strategies and support you need to increase your sales and increase your impact.

I want to help you work smarter, not harder, so you can overcome your business challenges and succeed with your slow fashion business.

If you're chasing your tail and you don't know what step to take next, or you need to workshop growth ideas and need a clear action plan to follow each month, or you just need to vent and work out what's going so wrong in your business - I'm here to help.

If you're running an ethical, sustainable, circular or slow fashion business and you're looking for a mentor or business coach to help move you forward, increase your sales and create more impact with your fashion business - I'm happy to put my hand up, and there's plenty of reasons why it's a good idea to get a mentor.

1. You'll receive invaluable guidance and wisdom.
A mentor brings a wealth of experience and insights from their career. Learning from someone who's been in the fashion industry, faced challenges, and achieved success can save you from making expensive mistakes.

2. You'll get incredible networking opportunities.
If you pair up with a great mentor who has a good reputation in the industry, they'll have an extensive network they can share. This can open doors to collaborations, partnerships, and other valuable connections that can elevate your business.

3. You'll receive tailored and specific business advice.
The right mentor can provide personalised advice based on your specific business needs and your specific brand. They can help you develop strategies that align with your ethical and sustainable values while ensuring business growth, and you'll have access to their creative mind to better your own brand.

4. You'll be motivated and held accountable.
Running a business can be tough but having someone to support you, provide encouragement and hold you accountable for your goals is invaluable. It keeps you motivated and focused on the bigger picture, and it makes the tough times a little easier.

5. You'll access industry trends and updates.
Working in fashion is a fast-paced gig and the industry changes every day. A mentor can keep you informed about the latest trends, technologies, and consumer preferences, helping you stay ahead of the curve and stay on top of your competitors.

In a nutshell, if you're considering getting a mentor to grow your ethical, sustainable, circular or slow fashion brand, it's a great idea. From personal experience, finding the right slow fashion mentor is a game changer, and it's one of the most powerful things you can do to get ahead.
