PURPOSE. Do you know what yours is? If you have that niggling feeling that you’re meant for something more - that’s your purpose calling.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve wanted to save the world. In primary school, I started a recycling program and put my fellow students to work making firebricks from old newspapers so we could reduce paper waste. I constantly did the donation thing too; I would door knock through my neighborhood to raise money for kids in need and I sold chocolates to save the orangutans.
I wasn’t a Girl Scout or a Brownie, but maybe I should have been. I would have made them millions with all my eight-year-old fiery passion for a better world.
In high school, I campaigned and petitioned and 40-hour-famined and spoke up about causes that mattered to me.
When I was 18 and could do more, I started my first ethical and sustainable business, and in my twenties, I built one of Australia’s largest online stores for ethical and sustainable fashion so I could make the industry better.
I’ve always felt like I was meant for so much more than just me, just myself.
I know my purpose is to change things for the better. I know what I’m meant to do, and I’m doing it through fashion.
I believe that fashion can be a force for good - when we use it the right way.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Something big is coming to The Fashion Advocate. Stay tuned!
