I have a dirty little secret to share... The Fashion Advocate used to be called something very embarrassing.
Before The Fashion Advocate was a digital community and mentoring platform, it was an online store for ethical and sustainable fashion, and before that, it started as a blog. I thought I was so fancy when I first started blogging too and I was living in Berlin when I created my Instagram account and called it... 'The Chic Visionaire.'
Embarrassing. So European of me ha!
The Chic Visionaire didn’t last long. It didn't make much sense and some people couldn't pronounce it, so I came up with The Fashion Advocate and it stuck.
Over the years, as I grew and expanded and moved into beauty and lifestyle, not just fashion, I questioned changing it too.
But you know what? It's a name, and names change and that’s what business is all about. Trying things. Testing things. Doing the embarrassing things. Taking risks. Because if you don’t, you’ll end up working for someone who did.
Where you start is not where you finish, so take those risks, take that action, move forward and aim for progress not perfection.
If you're ready to step up up and branch out this year, join The Fashion Advocate's Slow Fashion Circle here.
