The Australian fashion identity is diverse. It is our history. It is our future. Our fashion identity defines us.
Presented by The Fashion Advocate, IDENTITY is a culmination of our national design story, past, present and future. Through fashion and design, we advocate for social justice, environmental sustainability, and global equality. Through fashion, we embrace the identity we already own and the identity we desire to create.
Designers from all corners of the country will come together in the name of fashion and share their identity through one medium that we all understand: clothing. We all wear it, we all buy it, we all use it to shape our own identity.
United by sustainable and ethical practices, conscious and considered design, and a desire to drive positive social change, The Fashion Advocate’s community of fashion designers will step onto the runway and into the spotlight, proclaiming their identity.
A positive social, environmental and economic impact can only be achieved through committed daily change. Garment by garment, The Fashion Advocate is shaping an ethical and sustainable fashion future by maximising the benefits to people and communities while minimising the impact on the environment. Every designer in The Fashion Advocate community is unique, individual and independent, but together, we stand as a community with this shared goal.
Our identity is a culmination of Indigenous traditions, artisan crafts, circularity and innovation, embodied through the tangible. Our fashion, our style, our way of dressing, it reflects who we are, what we stand for and what we work towards.
Embrace slow fashion through an interactive runway experience, enjoy an afternoon garden party with live music, locally sourced cocktails and canapes, and stand united, advocating for a better fashion future.
