I want to burn it all to the ground. That line came up again and again in conversations I had with creatives at the end of last year.
And I felt it too. 2025 was hard. It was the year of the snake: a year of growth, shedding, change. And growth is good, but it’s also exhausting. Letting go of what no longer fits is hard, especially when you don’t know what you’re making room for. That space between the old and the new is unnerving, especially when you’re wired for control.
But the hardest part is admitting you want to tear something down that you’ve spent years building up, without even knowing why.
And for the conscious creatives I work with who are usually anchored in their intuition and clear on their purpose, not knowing what to do next can feel excruciating. These are businesses they’ve built from the ground up. Brands they’ve poured themselves into. Identities they are attached to.
And yet, here they are, wanting to burn it all down. Not out of anger or failure, but because things just feel different. The energy has shifted. The fire that used to fuel them, the passion, the clarity, the drive, it’s just not there in the same way. 2025 made business feel heavy. Like a push. Like a fight. And so many ended the year wondering if they even wanted to keep going.
But it makes sense. 2025 was a 9 year in numerology (2+0+2+5 = 9), a year of completion, endings, and transformation. A time to tie up loose ends and make space for what’s next. It was a year that asked a lot, emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. A year that encouraged reflection, healing, letting go.
So whether you wanted to go there or not, the energy of 2025 pushed you onto that path. And when you combine a number 9 year with the Chinese year of the snake, a symbol of shedding and deep internal change, you get the perfect storm. Big emotions. Big shifts. A lot of ‘I’m done’ energy.
But what if it’s not about burning it all down? What if it’s not about quitting? What if it’s not your business that needs to end, but the way you’ve been running it? What if it’s not your brand you need to let go of, but the stories you’ve been believing about how to build it? What if it’s got nothing to do with the what and everything to do with the how?
Twice in 2025, I wanted to burn it all to the ground. I was over it. Done. Disconnected. I stopped feeling it. I seriously thought about pulling the pin on everything. The stress, the push, the pressure, I was so bloody tired of it all. I even considered going back to work for someone else.
Thank God I didn’t. Because by the end of the year, I understood what was going on. I learned about my Human Design profile. I learned about numerology. I learned about the energy of the snake. And I realised the answer wasn’t quitting. It was changing.
So here I am. Starting 2026 with a different kind of clarity. It’s not time to quit. But it is time to do things differently. Very differently.
My purpose is still the same. My passions haven’t changed. My drive to make the world a better place is as strong as ever. But how I do it is shifting. I’m changing the way I work and how I show up. I’m setting firmer boundaries around my time, my energy, my capacity. I’m choosing to work in a way that feels more spacious, more aligned, more honest. Because if I’m going to keep building something meaningful, it has to feel good to build. It has to feel sustainable for me too, not just sustainable for the world.
If you’re feeling it too and you’re starting 2026 thinking about burning it all down or quietly fantasising about a completely different life, breathe. And put those matches down. If that’s where you’re at, I get it. Truly.
But before you make any big decisions, ask yourself... Is it the work that’s no longer right or is it the way you’re doing it? Are you genuinely ready to let go of it all or just craving more space, freedom, and support? Are you building your business in a way that honours your values and your wellbeing not just your income? Is the version of success you’re chasing actually yours or someone else’s?
I’ll tell you what I tell all my clients: this is your business, you make the decisions, you get to run it your way, if something isn’t working, change it.
And if you're not sure where to start, here are a few small but powerful shifts to bring you back into alignment...
- Revisit your 'why' without the pressure to monetise it.
- Audit your week. What drains you and what energises you?
- Set on boundary that protects your time or energy.
- Let go of one 'should' that no longer serves you.
- Make one decision that's led by intuition not fear.
You don’t need to overhaul everything. You just need to take one honest step at a time. This year doesn’t need to start with a five-year plan or a rebrand or a dramatic pivot. It can start with a soft reset. A deeper truth. A small but honest shift. You’re allowed to change. You’re allowed to outgrow things. And you’re absolutely allowed to rebuild in a way that feels better, lighter, truer, more you.
So as you step into 2026, ask yourself how you want to feel, not just what you want to do.
Let that be your compass.
Pick a word for 2026 that honours your shift, your energy, your evolution, your new way, and share it with me on Instagram. I’d love to hear it.
