The Cerrado savanna is the world's most biodiverse savanna, home to 5% of the planet's animals and plants. It is the largest savanna region in South America. Deforestation of the Cerrado has dramatically increased in the last ten years to make way for cotton, soy and beef farms.

98% of the deforestation and habitat destruction in the last year alone has been illegal deforestation. 

ZARA sources its cotton from multiple suppliers in Asia who source their cotton from farms in the Cerrado. This is why knowing your supply chain and material sources is important.

For ZARA, it means that they’re fuelling illegal deforestation and directly contributing to climate change.

If you shop at ZARA, you’re fuelling that too.

Don’t buy fast fashion.

Buy slow fashion.
