I have officially transitioned to Zuii Organic makeup. It’s been a slow journey, but I can finally say that I no longer knowingly subject my skin to chemicals, toxins, or animal gizzards, and that’s a sentence that feels great to say out loud.
I’ve always been aware of my body and what it’s telling me, but I completely ignored it in my early twenties. I was using multiple moisturisers, fake tan, cheap makeup, serums, primers and all kinds of sprays and tamers in my hair. All of it was chemical-based crap, filled with animal by-products, carcinogens, and strange ingredients I can’t pronounce.
Standard store-bought makeup is riddled with toxic chemicals, and the more I learn, the more I understand why I had so many endocrine problems in my twenties. Toxic chemicals are in everything from shampoo to toothpaste, and without knowing it, most of us are exposed to Formaldehyde every day through beauty products. It's a carcinogenic by-product released by the preservatives used in cosmetics, and one in five cosmetic products in Australia contain it.
Formaldehyde is classified by the World Health Organisation as a Group 1 carcinogen known to cause cancer. It also causes skin irritation, sensory irritation, and breathing difficulties when inhaled, ingested or if it comes into contact with skin. So, if your skin is your biggest organ and everything you put on it goes in it, why would you knowingly use a beauty product that contains Formaldehyde?
I wouldn't, which is why I’ve started using Zuii Organic makeup. I’ve thrown out all my expensive brand name luxury makeup because most of it is tested on animals, and now, I use Certified Organic, cruelty-free Australian made delicious, luscious, Zuii Organic products.
That old saying, 'No pain, no gain', scrap that, and get rid of your chemical makeup. Beauty should not cause you pain, and it shouldn’t impact your health. Check out the full Zuii Organic range here and make the switch.
